Dr. Neel Sirosh provided key hydrogen system technologies that enabled pioneering hydrogen fuel cell vehicles developed by Toyota, General Motors, Hyundai, Suzuki and NASA/AeroVironment. He served as the Head of Hydrogen Storage at Universal Hydrogen, a startup funded by Airbus, JetBlue and others, and founded by the former CTO of Airbus. He was a founding manager at Quantum Technologies, a pioneer in lightweight and ultra-high pressure hydrogen storage systems and served as their CTO for 8 years during a 17-year tenure. He was also the VP/General Manager of LightSail Energy, a Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) startup funded by Bill Gates, Khosla Ventures, Total Energy (France) and others, where he developed and obtained US DOT special permit for large scale gas transport modules and ASME certification for stationary gas storage modules. He served on the Advisory Council for Alternative Energy at CSA International, and contributed to hydrogen standards developments by CSA, ASME, NFPA and ISO. He holds several patents on gas storage systems and published/presented 40+ papers and contributed to 3 books on hydrogen storage.
Neel holds a PhD in Engineering (Finite Elements) from the Schulich School of Engineering of the University of Calgary, Canada and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
